My two main passions in life are music and numbers and when I was first approached about a position at ITLA I couldn’t believe there was a job that combined both. I thrive on a challenge and love to be super busy!

I have over 30 years of experience in Accounts and Bookkeeping as I ran my own accounting company while my Children were growing up. I have also spent many glorious years touring with bands on the road and lots of summers in the festival fields as a manager.

In my spare time (what’s that!) I like to travel the globe and feel the sun on my face and warm sand beneath my feet. It is wonderful to experience diverse cultures and taste all the amazing food the world has to offer.

I am so glad to have a job where I don’t have to choose between accounts and music. As someone once said“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”

I’ve worked in the Finance industry for 12 years and started studying AAT in 2017. After working at another practice in Cheltenham for 4 years, I was very excited to discover that In The Loop were based locally and specialised in the Music and Events industry, which is something that I have always had a huge interest in.

Joining In The Loop has inspired me to get involved with music production and DJing again. Otherwise, a combination of video games, football, my family – consisting of wife, Jess, young daughter, Sophia, and dog, Lola – keep me busy and entertained outside of work.

I enjoy working closely with Artists, Festivals and other clients in the music industry across all aspects of their financial planning and accounts preparation. I particularly enjoy working with festivals and seeing how they are run from a financial perspective. I’m looking forward to attending a couple through work this summer and seeing all the hard work pay off.

I originally worked with one of the top DJ booking agencies and learned about all aspects of the music industry. I decided to go solo with my own company to focus specifically on the music industry when I had gathered enough experience across artists and event accounting so that I can add value to my clients.

I was interested in the accountancy side of the music industry because I love attending festivals throughout university life, and I still try to get one or two festivals in a year.

I love playing any kind of sport, especially golf!  Golf is where I can totally switch off and catch up with friends.  I love to travel to Italy with my wife who is completely obsessed with Italian culture and food, so I end up eating my weight in pasta! 

By working for events, event suppliers, artists, and PR,  I get to see the full circle of the money generated and distributed.

After moving to the UK in 2015, I decided that I wanted a career change and accounts had always been an interest. I started studying AAT and shortly after I landed my first job in accounts. Three years later I got the opportunity to join In The Loop Accounts, and being a musician as well it was a no-brainer for me.

Besides working within the Music Industry, I am a musician myself. I have played drums in different bands throughout my life, and I currently play in a local rock band. I love anything related to music, from writing music myself to attending festivals or concerts.  I love traveling and going out with friends and family, but I also love a good stay-in watching films or a TV series.

Being able to understand how music festivals work from a financial perspective and taking part in their financial planning.

After qualifying as an Accountant, I set up my own limited company and ran that for 6 years.  However, I found it quite isolating – I missed working with other people and office life so thought I would look to see what was out there. By chance, I was approached by ITLA and I thought the role was a perfect fit as it tied in nicely with my previous TV experience working with a variety of Actors and Musicians.

I have two children aged 18 and 12.  My eldest son set up his own Events Company two years ago and is about to go to university in Bristol to study Marketing.  

Working with the DJs and Events companies that In The Loop looks after has helped me be a less embarrassing mother in the eyes of my teenager – I don’t think he can quite believe he is asking me to help him get tickets to festivals!
